Sandi Toksvig, one of the presenters of the hit Channel 4 series “Great British Bake Off”, is departing after three years.
Toksvig (photo left of left) said that she wants to focus on other working projects, including presenting the coming Channel 4 series “The Writ Offs”, which looks at the issue of adult literacy.
Toksvig was an important role in the success of “Bake Off” since it was switched in 2017 from the BBC to Channel 4.
She and Noel Fielding took over the duties of Mel Jodroyc and Sue Perkins and worked with judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith.
Toksvig said: “If they walk off a job, it is very frequent that people say that they do it to spend more time with their family. Uncommon I depart from the ‘ Great British Bake Off ‘ So I can spend more time with my other work.
‘ As my body will testify, ‘ Bake Off ‘ is an all inclusive show… ‘ Bake Off ‘ is a wonderful program that has proven to be happy to change a host staff. The reason for that is, of course, the true stars of the show are the bakers themselves. ”
Channel 4 said that he is now looking for a substitute for Toksvig and will announce who will soon join the current team.
Richard McKerrow, chief creative officer of the ‘ Bake Off ‘-producer Love Productions, said Toksvig ‘ has made a tremendous contribution to ‘ Bake Off ‘ in the past three years, with her keen sense of humour and her heartfelt commitment to the Dozens of bakers during her time in the tent. ”
Ian Katz, director of programmes on Channel 4, added: ‘ Sandi is a great deal of the reason why ‘ Bake Off ‘ ‘s move to Channel 4 was so successful, and we’re very grateful for her contribution to the show. ‘
