Nolan returns to his time-traveling, sci-fi roots
The film, set within the world of international espionage, is finally the first trailer in Christopher Nolan’s Tennet that casts some more light on the director’s 11th film.
The first trailer casts some light on the story, which has been kept under wraps for quite some time. It seems John David Washington’s character is trying to stop the Third World War, but it’s unclear what happens. Like other Nolan projects, an element of time travel will be included to achieve its goal for Washington. That means meeting with characters played by beloved actor Nolan has worked like Michael Kane in the past. The trailer includes some beautiful shots (apparently shot in seven different countries), so Nolan’s fans should be happy.
Unlike Dunkirk, Nolan’s 2017 film is about the gallantry rescue operation in Dunkirk, France, during the Second World War, more common with Nolan’s previous films in Tenette. There are elements of the inception, the director’s critically acclaimed and beloved Heist-Dreams-Dreams film from 2010, and The Menmento of Manmento.
Warner Bros. is also releasing a lengthy prelude to the film, which will appear in IMAX cinemas before Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. However, don’t expect to see it outside those IMAX walls. A previous very small teaser was displayed in cinemas, but leaks published on Twitter and YouTube were quickly taken down. If you want to see the prelude, it’s going to buy tickets to see the rise of Skywalker in IMAX. But maybe it’s not the worst thing.
Tennette will be released on July 17, 2020.
